After the new Mercedes-Benz E-class, the new Mercedes-AMG E63 will be not far away. The new naming strategy of Mercedes will create another sub-brand, which will be named Mercedes-AMG. The new E63 will be built on the same platform as the smaller C-class. The styling of the new E-class will be in line with the new AMG models.
Power in the 2017 E63 AMG will come from AMG’s ‘M178’ twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. The engine will initially appear in the AMG GT sports car, where it will deliver upwards of 503 horsepower. It’s not clear how many horses it will deliver in the 2017 E63 AMG, but expect at least 550 hp on tap for the standard model and even more for the S-Model.
